In 1876 two sheepmen were murdered in Palo Duro Canyon by the noted Mexican outlaw, Sostenes L'Archeveque, and twenty-five thousand dollars in gold coins disappeared. Twenty people are either killed, murdered or hung as a result of the search for the gold. When two young cowboys from the Ceebara ranch join the search, they lead the reader on a wild adventure as they battle cattle rustlers, outlaws, buffalo hunters, gamblers and prostitutes in their quest for the gold.
